The Smartphone maker HTC has lay off 1,500 of its employees in their Taiwan production branch. This amount to 22 percent of HTC work force. This is a big downsizing. The tech company has earlier in January this year move 2,000 of its design team to Google. At which Google paid 1.1 billion dollars to purchase a part of its HTC’s business.

In June this year, HTC has promises that it will be profitable this year, only to end up in July 2 to be laying off 1,500 employees. HTC is known for producing premium high range smartphone and VR headset. The company has earlier in the year released the HTC U12Plus.
